I can’t believe that we are midway through September and we have less than four months left in 2019. I remember celebrating the new year with my family like it was yesterday. The year is certainly going by pretty fast. Well, I have a couple questions for you. How much have you been able to achieve? What have the past nine months been like for you? How amazing has it been? How bumpy has it felt? What were your biggest challenges this year and were you able to overcome them? What has been the highlight so far? What are you grateful for? It’s time to reflect.

To some this year was good, to others it could have been better. Some people lost a lot while others gained more this year. Nonetheless, regardless of how the year has been, have you taken your time to appreciate God for all he has done, if not for anything but the gift of life. As it is said, when there is life, there is hope.

Personally, the year has not been the most fabulous; everything hasn’t gone exactly how I planned and expected them to. I have been through a couple of challenges; nonetheless, I am grateful for where I am today. I am thankful for the problems that have made me stronger. I am grateful for everyone who has come in my life and has contributed to my positive growth in one way or the other. I am thankful to God for those who left my life as well, for my good. I am grateful for every season this year, and the blessing each came with. I am thankful for my beautiful family, fantastic friends, my job, strength, God’s grace, shelter, God’s protection, hope, peace, and knowledge. I am grateful to God for fighting battles I couldn’t fight, for saving me in times of trouble, for every time he made a way even when it seemed like all hopes were lost. I appreciate this goodness, mercy, kindness, favour and love in my life. Now to you, What are you thankful for?

Over time, I have come to realize that gratitude is one of the many ways to open the windows of blessing. Let’s take time today to appreciate God for all that he has done and all he is yet to do. I ask again, what are you grateful to God for?
