Recently, I had an opportunity to speak with an old friend who is currently battling with breast cancer. While we talked, she kept thanking God for her lovely family and her amazing friends, she can now call family. She also thanked God so much for all she has achieved so far on earth.
Most importantly she said, “Mandy, life is a journey, and embarking on this journey, a journey with so many barriers and stumbling blocks, I can’t help but remain grateful for the battles I fight, the battle I am fighting and all that I have achieved so far and all I will achieve by God’s grace.” I couldn’t help but cry.
Well, while I was trying to figure out what to share with you today, I thought to myself, why not share this with my amazing readers, right! The truth is her words made me think critically.
I would like you to take some time to evaluate your journey so far. What has your journey been like? Think about where you have been, where you are and where you are heading to. What are you grateful for? what battles have you won? What battles are you fighting? What have you achieved? What do you hope to accomplish?
Trust me there is so much to be grateful for. Being alive today, and being counted amongst the living is a blessing. Isn’t that an excellent reason to be grateful? Think about the battles you overcame with God on your side. Yes! They were tough. Yes! At some point, it seemed like there was no hope for tomorrow but God’s delay has and will never be denial. Aren’t we blessed to be confident that God has not and will never ignore or abandon us regardless of what circumstance we find ourselves be it good or bad? Aren’t these enough reasons to be thankful?
I would like you to reminisce critically. Think about the cleared path God had created for you, even when things didn’t seem clear. How about the lovely family you have. What about the divine helpers that came when you thought the world had turned its back on you. What are you grateful for. Could it be for provision, protection, peace, joy, happiness, love, you can name it.
I would like you to keep in mind that gratitude is essential for our positive growth, and happiness. According to Amy Collette ” Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.”
Please Let’s take time to self- evaluate. There are so many reasons for us to be thankful. It could be for the air you breathe. It could be for your loved ones or your family. Why not thank God for your current challenges? Thank him for victory in advance.
Today’s blog post might seem a little different, but I needed to share this with you today. Have a blessed weekend.
