The power of patience

Patience is a valuable skill that helps through the hurdles of the journey of success and dealing with people. I would describe it as the ability to tolerate waiting in frustration or delay. According to Fulton Sheen “Patience is power. Patience is not an absence of action; rather it is “timing,” it waits for the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way.”

Patience teaches you to wait calmly when faced with difficulties. It is the state of being that occurs between experience and reaction. When dealing with yourself, people or situation, you need to realize that patience is essential. It teaches you to endure and tolerate. Even with achieving goals, visions and dreams we need to learn to cultivate the practice of patience.

It is a virtue; however, some people struggle with it. It is a key and factor required for the journey of success. There is no shortcut to success, other than through hard work and patience. When it comes, it’s with happiness which is a product of hard work and perseverance. It helps us preserve and persist especially when it comes to achieving goals. As the famous saying goes, those who are patient get the best of what they deserve

There are lots of examples of great people in whose lives patience has played a significant role. Patience is an essentiality when it comes to building your persona. Patience teaches you discipline, and it shows you to discover what’s important as well as your values.

As a person, I struggled a lot with patience especially dealing with human beings. I had issue tolerating others. However, over time experience has taught me to tolerate people, which can earn you respect.

Also, patience establishes the worth of your wait. According to Jean- Jacques Rousseau “ Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet. Let us cultivate the practice of patience, remember it is an essentiality for success and a guide when dealing with people.
