Overcoming fears

Growing up as a child I feared a lot of things, I feared what life had in stock for me and what life could offer.

Sincerely, I really can’t figure why I had these fears but then I believe I was too ambitious then. Probably these had triggered these negative thought, I am not exactly sure.

Have you ever gone through this? Are you still going through this? What were/are your fears? What triggered them? Have you been able to handle them?

Fear can be considered as an unpleasant emotion or thought. It is part of our human nature, but then it is one of the greatest hindrance to success.

Moreso, emotions play an important role when it comes to fears. I believe fear can be controlled by our mind and our thought, what we believe in and how we perceive things to be based on what we see, hear or even experience.

Fears can be caused by pain, unrecognizable event and many more. Some fear death, accident, ghosts, victimization, ridicule, poverty, pains and a whole lot more.

I grew up too anxious and ambitious to achieve a lot and I believe that was where my fears started creeping because at that time I was too young to handle certain things life brought to me.

Recently, I found myself in the clouds of fears again and this time I think it is because I have slowly grown to that stage and phase in my life where I must make certain tough decisions for myself.

As I battled with this phase I remembered that it took only courageous thoughts and a positive mind to overcome my fears the last time. I believe courage is not absence of fear but the overcoming of fear.

Face the truth of your fears, face what scares you and challenge yourself to success.  Get rid of negative perception, you must make peace with those around you and understand that their intentions are not to cause you harm.

You must learn to be selective about what you want out of life and the things you decide to go after, this is because this can be a major factor of fear.

In addition, believe in yourself, your talent and abilities. When you live in the mindset of “I can’t do it” or, “I’m not good enough,” you narrow your window of success to a very slim opening and inadvertently put yourself down.

Fear is all that lies between you and your dreams. I have learnt over time based on my experiences that instead of seeing or feeling the fear, look at the further side of it towards your dreams. Move forward despite feeling the fear. Just have faith and do it. Your faith will never let you down. It will always see you through.

If you seek success in life you should shield your mind from fearful thought and other negative thoughts, because this only helps to undermine your esteem and potentiality.
