Hello, my fantastic reader! How are you doing? How did your week go? Mine was okay.
Sincerely, I must confess this week made me value the beauty of personal time. Anyway, thank God it is Friday, I am looking forward to the weekend.
Well, let’s talk about this grudging feeling, envy. It is a feeling of discontent or resentful desire aroused by someone else’s possessions, qualities, good fortune or luck. Many of us have most likely had our share of moments of feeling envious of other people’s circumstances and achievements even though we might not admit. I understand!
On the other hand, some people just hate it when they see another succeeding, and I believe this isn’t new to most of us. While in some cases some might be envious as a result of social comparison or competition between themselves and another person. Nonetheless, envy is one lousy feeling we need to overcome and get rid of, because it does nothing but distract us from our focus. It doesn’t help personal growth, instead, it causes set back. Learning to overcome and avoid comparing ourselves to others, and feel more gratitude could help overcome envy
It is very important that we focus more on ourselves instead of comparing ourselves with others. Sincerely, comparing what we have to what others have or comparing ourselves with others has an excellent way to make yourself miserable. This is because we are all different and so is our journey and goals, therefore, be grateful for what you have and where you have gotten so far in life. A regular gratitude exercise will help minimize envy. Even more, I will further advise that we transform envy into motivation as this will help us better grow and find peace within ourselves.
There are different and diverse ways to overcome the negativities in our lives, most especially to overcome envy, The first step should always start with your willingness to try. It is never too late to make a change, why not start today.
