My trip to Montreal

Hello people, I guess this is probably the right time to talk about my trip to Montreal.

All work and no play they say makes Jack a dull boy. Well, I can be too stubborn to understand this famous saying. For the past three months, I have overworked myself. I don’t know what came over me, but I saw myself investing all my time and energy in working and making money, that I forgot to take care of my self. I mean mentally and emotionally. I had to fall ill in order to get a brain reset,┬álol! It got to the point that the doctor advised I take time off work, have fun and get my mind distracted. Thinking about it now, I actually thought medication was enough but the Doctor was right. I needed to get my mind distracted from work.

Coincidentally, a friend of mine invited me for a Montreal trip. Perfect Timing, so I agreed, I wasn’t exactly sure at first about it but I came to term with the fact that I needed rest and have fun. Anyways, I made sure I had my bag packed before my flight.

The trip was much better than I had expected it to be. I met cool people; we had fun cooking, hiking, eating, laughing, dancing and touring the city. If you don’t know, I love to travel to new places and tour cities I have never been. This trip gave me that experience. I went to mount royal, Notre-Dame Basilica and so many other amazing and fun places.

I also slept so well during this short trip. I mean more than I have in the past three months. I was literally sleeping on almost every car ride, and yes, my friends were so done with me, lol!

I spent quality time meeting and getting to know some nice friends i made on this trip. we partied, ate, ate, ate and had lots and lots of fun.

I did enjoy everything about my mini vacation. In fact, it made me realise how much I needed to take time off work for my sanity and health. It was definitely worth it. Sometimes taking a break is necessary. You don’t have to fall sick to know you need rest or a little vacation. As Nigerians will say “body no be firewood”. Don’t be like me.
