It’s fall again: let’s reflect

It is October already, how time flies! I would like to say a Happy independence to my country and homeland, Nigeria. However, in the country where I reside, Canada, there is so much to anticipate from the fall season. It is that time of the year when the days grow darker and colder.

As the leaves fall from the trees and the foliage turns color, the summer season gives way to the cold breeze. Fall, a season with good numbers of holidays and holy days accompanied with significant meanings and social traditions.

I can’t help but wonder how much time has flown this year, I sincerely can’t believe it is October. It can only be God, many entered 2017 with you and me, but some are no more. This did not only make me think about my life, it made me question my journey this year and in life so far.

Take a moment to join me as we all examine our minds, what have you learned from this year, what mistakes have you made, how would you have avoided them if you could. What lessons have made you a different person, how has it changed you? what difference have you made to the society, how have you impacted the people around you and the society at large?

What are your achievement and what are your losses? Have you had time to ask yourself what this season has in store for you?

What life lessons have life brought to you this year? How has the past affected your present? Have you done anything this year worth remembering? These are questions you can critically answer looking back at your past, your present and your future. Remember it is October already.

According to J.D. Stroube in his book Damnation, “Life is filled with unanswered questions, but it is the courage to seek those answers that continues to give meaning to life.”
