Hello, my fantastic reader. How are you doing? How was your week? Mine was good, though it is that time of the semester when all my project and assignment are due. However, this week, I will be addressing the topic, building self-motivation.

Some of us might have found ourselves in motivational slumps that we might have had to work to get out of. Sometimes it feels like a continuous cycle. In some cases, we are often motivated for a period of time, and then we fall out. Usually, when this happens, we find ourselves trying to build it back again.

Have you been feeling less motivated recently? Or Have you ever felt less motivated? How did you handle it?

Unlike many elements like hard-work, consistency, perseverance, self-worth and many more required for success, self- motivation lie entirely within your control. It doesn’t matter who or where you are.

Self-motivation is like a muscle; the more it is used, the stronger it gets. And like a muscle, it can get exercised in different ways, so it can become resilient and always ready to serve your goals.

There’s nothing more powerful for self-motivation than having the right attitude to it. You can’t choose or even control your circumstance, but you can choose your attitude towards that circumstance. In this light, I created some go to steps which has assisted me with rebuilding my motivation every time I fall out of it.

First, is self-evaluation, at this point, I am very much aware of the fact that I have fallen off track and I need to stay motivated to get back on track. To achieve this, I practice my second go-to option which is examining my strengths and weaknesses, and what needs to be worked on. Then, I Set achievable goals for myself, and I work to achieve them. In doing this, I try to avoid procrastination and embrace more positivity and hard work.

Note, as easy as this might sound; I have struggled a couple times while getting back on track. This only proves the imperfection in my human nature, and this applies to anyone. Like I stated earlier, these are my go-to steps when it comes to building my motivation.
